The Kerikeri Garden Safari for 2015 has been and gone, and what a delight it was! The weekend weather was almost perfect – mostly clear blue skies with the odd passing clouds, and a sprinkling shower late on Saturday afternoon just to freshen the gardens again for Sunday.
We lost count of the number of visitors we had through the Moon Gate Villa gardens, but it was a delight to meet everyone and we probably received as many gardening tips as we gave.
On the following Monday, all Garden Safari gardeners are invited to a special 3rd day safari, where we are taken by bus to visit a selection of the weekends participating gardens, with a delicious lunch to say ‘thank you’ to all involved. We thought we’d share a couple with you – the rest can be seen on our Facebook page.
Lots on this month! The 14th of November sees the 173rd annual Bay of Islands Pastoral & Industrial Show held at the Waimate North showgrounds. And the following weekend of the 21st is the Kerikeri Half Marathon, followed by the Kerikeri Street Party, which is now a huge free event attended by just about all the locals and visitors for the half marathon. Hope to see you there!
